CIDJAP organizes Holiday Programme

In its bid to reduce the rate of unemployment amongst youth and to engage them to be self reliant, CIDJAP organized a one month holiday programme in August.

The CIDJAP Holiday Programme was packed in such a way that is different from any other workshop that was organized in recent time because it is more of practice than theory.

The programme started from 26th July and ended on 19th August 2010. The twenty participants that came from all parts of Enugu were given skills on the following packages;

Cake bakery, interior decoration, reseate (pin-up design), soap, detergent, liquid hand wash, perfume, odour control, jeline, hair grease and cream making, video and camera operation, liquid soap, card making and designing, bag designing etc.

Motivational and entrepreneurship talks were also given to guide the participants on the new phase of life they are to embark upon. During the closing formalities, the participants were told to hold on to what they have and not join the unemployed youths who engage in different crimes.

The participants thanked CIDJAP for the skills learnt and especially for the down to earth and practical ways of impacting the knowledge.

In the same vein, a comprehensive lecture on Safe Motherhood Training was given to two parishes during their yearly August Meeting. The Mothers were made to realize their roles as partners to God in his creation and the need to preserve the lives of both the mother and child during the pre and post natal period.

The mothers on their own part were very happy with the knowledge acquired and counted themselves lucky to be among the parishes to be visited. They prayed that CIDJAP will continue to address them on many other topical issues, especially as it concerns women at of our time.
