Vocational Education


Towards the empowerment of the youths to discover innate gifts and talents that would have been dimmed by financial impoverishment of their families, CIDJAP pushes youths to their potentials in upholding the philosophy that self-help is best help.

In an effort therefore to enhance vocational and skill acquisition training, the Institute established training centres fOR young boys and girls namely, Oluaka Di Mma Vocational and Industrial Technical Training Centre (VITTC), Coal Camp, Enugu and the Nazareth Skills and Vocational Training Centre, Ogbete, Enugu, to provide sustainable self employment to the youths.

The centre for young males which offers training in auto mechanic, auto body repair, fabrication, welding, metal works, technical drawing exposes the trainees to modern skill acquisition technology.

The Nazareth Skills Centre whose gigantic building was constructed and equipped by CIDJAP was established to provide training to young girls towards self-reliant and sustainable employment has since its founding in 1992 trained and graduated several young girls in the following fields;

  • Computer and Secretarial Studies
  • Tailoring and Fashion Designing
  • Soap and Pomade making
  • Domestic Training
  • Accounting
  • Career and Skill Development
  • Moral education
  • Cosmetology

The Centre is residential and the young girls trained in diverse skills for dignified livelihood and sustainable existence, upon the completion of their two-year practical and theoretical training, the one-year industrial training, and armed with the Center's certificate and the certificate of the National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) as well as the West African Hygiene Education Board (WAHEB), engage in paid jobs in parts of Nigeria, or self-employed enterprises, or even gain admission into the tertiary institutions.

The centre is managed by the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary, the Catholic Women Organisation and the Institute and serves as a centre for the National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTED) and the students have been recording successes in the external examination.

The Father Gregory Ogbonna Memorial Vocational Centre Okpatu, the Ave Maria Vocational Centre Ngwo, and the St. Marks Vocational Centre Umana-Ndiagu was also equipped by the institute.
